Hershey's New Treats

This is a re-post as I am moving over from my website. The original publish date was: March3, 2011.
Back in November, we had the honor of being among some of the first to try out Hershey’s new treats while visiting the Hershey’s Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  I wanted to have the scoop and get the news out before they came out in stores. Instead, life got away from me. So, now I am writing to encourage everyone to try these new variations on the candies America has grown to love.
Hershey’s new Reese’s Mini are a great treat even for those who aren’t huge fans of the traditional peanut butter cups. For my older daughter, who is not a fan of peanut butter, these mini peanut butter cups are the perfect bite size without overwhelming her with peanut butter. They also have a little bit sweeter taste than the normal Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Our favorite new Hershey’s treat though is the Hershey’s Drops. This is Hershey’s version of an M&M style candy. Hershey hit it out of the ball park with these milk chocolate drops covered in a soft chocolate coating. The cheap cost, bright colors, and hard shell (less melting) of M&Ms will keep them in the top spot as the world’s best selling candy; however, when it comes to taste Hershey’s Drops have M&Ms beat hands down…well, at least on this family’s scorecard.
Hershey also extended it’s “Pieces” line from being just Reese’s Pieces to adding York Peppermint Pieces, Almond Joy Pieces, and Hershey’s Special Dark pieces.
